The real challenge of homeschooling

You're doing the teaching.
We'll help you organize the rest.

Homeschool families are doing remarkable work every day. The hard part is capturing it β€” consistently and clearly β€” without it becoming a second job.

πŸ““

Records scattered everywhere

Attendance in a notebook. Reading logs in a spreadsheet. Curriculum plans in a binder. Nothing connects and things get lost when you need them most.

πŸ“

"Did I document enough today?"

The nagging anxiety of wondering whether your real, living, curiosity-led days will translate into records that make sense when someone asks to see them.

πŸ“‹

Attendance feels impossible to keep up with

Logging school days consistently β€” especially across multiple children β€” takes discipline that most families don't have a good system for yet.

πŸŽ“

Transcripts get left to the last minute

High school families know the dread of trying to reconstruct years of learning when a college, co-op, or program asks for documentation.

Simple by design

Everything connects.
Nothing gets lost.

Rooted Plans isn't a curriculum. It's the organizational layer that sits alongside whatever you're already doing.

1

Describe your day

Write a narration in plain English β€” what you did, what your child worked on, what you read. Our AI reads it and identifies the skills and subject areas it finds in your description.

2

Schedule your curriculum

Enter your curriculum's chapters or units, set a pace, and Rooted Plans builds a schedule on your calendar. Mark lessons complete as you go β€” progress tracks itself.

3

Your records build over time

Attendance, reading logs, narration history, curriculum progress, and gradebook entries all accumulate. When you need a transcript or portfolio, it's already there.

The narration journal

Any kind of day counts.
The AI finds the learning in it.

Write what you actually did. The AI identifies skills and subject areas from your description β€” honestly, without inventing anything it isn't confident about.

Honest, not hallucinated

The AI only maps skills it's confident about. It never invents codes or attributes learning that didn't happen.

Plain English, not jargon

Skill descriptions are written in language you can actually read. Standards codes are included only when the AI is certain.

One entry, multiple children

Log a shared day and assign it to multiple children at once. Each child gets their own separate record and skill tracking.

Any kind of day qualifies

Cooking, a nature walk, a building project, a library trip β€” real learning days. The AI understands that, and documents them as such.

Example Β· Narration AI in action
β€œToday we made sourdough bread together. Maya measured the flour and water, and we talked about why the yeast makes the dough rise β€” she guessed it was alive before I confirmed it. After the bread was proofing she read two chapters of Little House on the Prairie on her own.”

Questions

Honest answers.

Will this keep me legally compliant with my state? β–Ό
Rooted Plans is a record-keeping and organizational tool β€” it is not a legal compliance service. Homeschool laws vary by state and change over time. We encourage every family to verify their own state's specific requirements. What we do is make it easy to keep consistent, organized records over time.
Does the AI make up standards codes? β–Ό
No. We've specifically built the AI to only include standards codes when it's confident, and to describe skills in plain English first. It will never invent a code or attribute a standard it can't support from your narration.
Does Rooted Plans provide curriculum? β–Ό
No β€” and that's intentional. Rooted Plans works alongside whatever curriculum your family already uses. The curriculum scheduler requires you to enter your own chapters or units.
What happens to my family's data? β–Ό
Your data belongs to your family. We don't sell it or share it with advertisers. Narration text is processed by Anthropic's Claude API to generate skill analysis β€” this is disclosed in our Terms of Service. Our full Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are available before any paid subscription is required.
Is this only for certain types of homeschool families? β–Ό
Rooted Plans works for any family that wants to keep their own organized records. Whether you're fully independent, enrolled in an umbrella school, part of a co-op, or using any other arrangement β€” if keeping your own records matters to you, Rooted Plans is built for you.
